Tending the Embers of Longing
Advent is an ancient season of waiting. As we wait through the long night for the coming of day, we quietly tend the embers of our longing, as we watch the eastern sky. This will be a day to come together in the solitude of our waiting to listen to our hearts, to make our prayers, to sing our songs, and to attend to the yearning we carry as we wait for the breaking of the dawn.
This day of prayer is an invitation to become more aware of God’s movement in all of the small moments of our day. We hope to provide a spacious place and schedule for you to enter into rest, prayer, and reflection. The day will begin at 9:00 am and provide times for a silent personal reflection, music, engagement with a series of prayer stations, poetry, and opportunity to walk an indoor prayer labyrinth. The community as a whole will be invited to gather once in the morning and once in the afternoon to enjoy music and a time of reflection with Mark.
