Lenten Journey: Brokenness to Wholeness
“Yet even now, says the Lord, return to me with all your heart” (Joel 2:12)
As the season of Lent begins, we are invited to listen to this call to return to God with all our heart. Christine Valters Paintner writes, “The heart is an ancient metaphor for the seat of our whole being – to be whole-hearted means to bring our entire selves before God, our intellect, our emotional life, our dreams and intuitions, our deepest longings.” How might this “whole-hearted return” be taking shape in you?
Our March silent retreat weekend will provide abundant space and time for your silence and contemplative reflection. In addition to a brief introduction to the theme, you will have opportunities to:
- visit prayer stations set up throughout the Jesuit Center, to inspire, deepen, and express your prayer
- walk the labyrinths (indoor and outdoor)
- create prayerful (and playful) art
The beautiful spaces of the Jesuit Center and outside grounds are also yours to wander and explore. All activities are optional and you are encouraged to shape the time as you feel led.
A unique aspect of this Guided Silent Retreat weekend is that the entire KAIROS community will be in silence. By observing group silence, we bond together, we support one another’s spiritual quest, and we offer a hospitable space for others seeking God.
