About Sabbath SpaceSabbath Space Prospectus

Leaders in Ministry and those in Care-giving positions are highly susceptible to burnout. Meeting the needs of others, without caring for oneself is exhausting, and in extreme cases can result in Compassion Fatigue.

“Sabbath Space” is a monthly day apart intended to provide the gift of personal and shared silence, and time for reflection on your relationship with God. The focus of these days will be resting in the heart of Holiness and soaking in God’s love with others who engage in similar ministries, so that we are better equipped to work and serve in all of life. The book, “Spiritual Disciplines Handbook: Practices that Transform Us” by Adele Ahlberg Calhoun, will help us explore and then practice many different ways to pray and nurture our relationship with God. Participants will be encouraged to choose two or three practices for the year, both for our individual accountability to growth, and to help each other broaden our understandings of the variety of ways we can be with God.

Sabbath Space will be held at FernRock Retreat ( between Souderton and Quakertown, PA., on the third Thursday of the month, from October 2016 through May, 2017, 9 AM to 3:30 PM. Lunch and snacks will be provided.

For additional information on schedule, themes, and reading materials, please view the 16-17 Sabbath Space Prospectus.

Meeting Dates (3rd Thursday of each month): October 20, November 17, December 15, January 19, February 16, March 16, April 20, May 18
